The short version
GG Time has no separate family account and no developer-operated family-data server. Family records stay on your Mac and iPhone and, when remote Parent Link is enabled, in your family’s private iCloud share. The apps contain no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.
The website works without analytics. Google Analytics loads only after you select “Allow analytics.” If you decline, the Google tag is not loaded.
What the apps store
The Mac stores the game list, daily rules, remaining and used time, saved rewards, optional reasons, and paired-parent records. The parent PIN and security markers use the macOS Keychain.
GG Time Parent stores paired child and Mac details, delivery history, optional reasons, and commands waiting to be delivered. Its device signing key is kept in the iPhone Keychain. The apps are free during the family pilot. If paid access is introduced later, Apple’s StoreKit will handle the purchase entitlement.
What crosses the network
Parent changes and Mac status travel either through the family’s private iCloud share or directly over the local network as a nearby fallback. Parent Link messages are signed and encrypted. The public GG Time update service receives ordinary download requests for the signed Mac installer and update feed; family balances, reasons and game activity are not sent to that service.
Permissions, in human
On the Mac, GG Time checks which app is in front so time is charged only while a limited game is actually active. Local Network access lets it communicate with a paired parent iPhone nearby. The companion countdown does not need notification permission.
On iPhone, the camera scans the one-time pairing code, Face ID or the device passcode confirms parent changes, and Local Network access provides nearby delivery when needed. iCloud provides remote delivery when it is available.
Your controls
A parent can revoke a paired iPhone from the Mac. Removing a Mac or child from the iPhone, or choosing Start Over there, deletes the Parent app’s local records; it does not by itself revoke that iPhone’s key on the Mac, so revoke on the Mac first when access must end. The Mac keeps its own protected usage and policy records until a parent changes or removes them.
Diagnostics and Apple services
The current apps do not include a third-party crash-reporting service. Apple may process App Store services, iCloud records and operating-system diagnostics according to your Apple settings and Apple’s privacy terms. If GG Time offers paid access after the pilot, the developer will not receive your payment details from Apple.
Pilot invitations and feedback
If you email dad@ggtime.app, Cloudflare Email Routing forwards your message to the developer’s inbox at danial@karun.ventures. Your email address and the details you choose to share are used to reply, help with setup and arrange your pilot invitation. You do not need to send your child’s name or private family records. Replies may come from the developer’s inbox address.
TestFlight is Apple’s beta-testing service. It shares testing information, crash reports and feedback with the developer, and Apple also receives feedback submitted through it. See Apple’s TestFlight information for details. Please remove personal information from screenshots before sharing them.
Website analytics: what is measured
When allowed, Google Analytics 4 measures page views and interactions such as scrolling, outbound-link clicks and downloads. This can include browser and device information, approximate location derived from an IP address, and the pages you use. We use this to understand which parts of the website help people and where it needs improvement.
Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled in our website setup. We do not use this site’s analytics for advertising.
Your website analytics choice
Your selection is stored in your browser as ggtime-analytics-consent. You can
change it here at any time. The new choice applies from that point onward.
